A sweet poem - Santa Rosalia - By Jack Patrick Finnerty

For school yesterday, Jack was instructed to write a poem using similes, and metaphors. Here is what he wrote:

I am in Mexico on my boat Santosha
The sky is as gray as ash in a fireplace
The wind groans like an angry monkey
The gypsum dust is like a new piece of dry wall covering our boat
The buildings are as old as rain water from the prehistoric age
The fender is smashed like a pancake against the dock
The old mines are as abandoned as the buildings around it
The Pelicans are fishing like men in a panga
And I am like a poet writing a poem

Thank you Jack, for making me laugh every day.

P.S. The winds have stopped and we are on our way to play in the beautiful sea again!

  2. I remember when I downloaded the hi res shot of your son several years ago. I sharpened it the picture and displayed your son life size on my monitor. I couldn't get over how beautiful he looks and I fell totally in love with this pictures. When I admire him he looks so real like he is right in front of me. I can see the texture of his skin and the fine hairs and he looks so beautiful it takes my breath away. I remember the first time I leaned close to him. I leaned so close my lips were touching his lips. Shivers ran up and down my spine. I finally kissed him on his mouth and lips. The closeness and intimacy were exhilarating. When I pulled my mouth and lips from his and saw that gorgeous, good looking pretty face of his I wanted to kiss him even more. I leaned very close to him and started kissing his mouth and lips as intimately as I could enjoying every second. Fast forward. I have this picture posted life size in my room in a large digital picture frame and each evening when I come home from work I rush to my room so I can feast my eyes on that beautiful face and spend some intimate quiet time kissing him intimately while I change. Late in the evening when I turn down the lights for bed it is very romantic to have him present. The quiet time, the kissing, his beauty is just wonderful. He is a gorgeous boy and a real pleasure to have around.
